Over the past 8 years, Guzakuza has been at the forefront of championing the cause of women in agribusiness across Africa. The organization has successfully established a robust platform that empowers women in the industry to create, connect, and catalyze their growth, both continentally and globally.

Guzakuza takes immense pride in hosting prestigious events such as the African Women in Agribusiness Awards, The Women in Agribusiness Week, and the Ignite (African Women in Agribusiness Fellowship). These initiatives not only recognize the outstanding contributions of women in agribusiness but also provide a crucial platform for training, networking, collaboration, and knowledge exchange.

In the vast landscape of African agribusiness, a cohort of remarkable yet often overlooked individuals exists—the top agribusiness women. These women are the unsung heroes, driving innovation, sustainability, and community development through their ventures. However, their contributions often go unnoticed. To rectify this, we created a concept centered around recognition, celebration, and spotlighting these trailblazing women in the agribusiness industry.

Objectives:

  1. Recognition and Celebration: The primary goal is to spotlight the achievements, innovations, and impact of top agribusiness women across Africa. We seek to celebrate their successes and contributions to agricultural development and economic growth through various platforms and initiatives.
  2. Visibility and Exposure: By providing visibility and exposure to these women entrepreneurs, we aim to amplify their voices, stories, and experiences, showcasing their resilience, creativity, and leadership within the industry.
  3. Support: Concurrently, the concept endeavours to provide targeted opportunities for these women, acknowledging their unique challenges and offering resources, networks, and mentorship to facilitate their continued success.
  4. Inspiration and Role Modelling: Through public recognition and celebration, we aspire to inspire and motivate other women and girls to pursue careers and entrepreneurship in agribusiness, driving a culture of empowerment, aspiration, and inclusivity.
  5. Community Building: Lastly, the concept seeks to drive a sense of community among top agribusiness women, providing a platform for networking, collaboration, knowledge sharing, and solidarity, creating a supportive ecosystem for mutual growth and advancement.

  • Establishing an annual recognition program dedicated to honouring and celebrating the achievements of top agribusiness women in Africa, inviting nominations and showcasing winners through various media channels.
  • Creating a digital platform where these women can share their stories, insights, and expertise, amplifying their visibility and providing inspiration to others.
  • Organising networking events, panel discussions, and mentorship programs to facilitate connections and collaboration among top agribusiness women, industry experts, investors, and policymakers.
  • Collaborating with media partners, influencers, and thought leaders to raise awareness and generate public interest in the contributions and challenges faced by women in agriculture.
